We are here for you and we want your event to be a success! We hope we can answer your questions here but if not, please contact NAMI Minnesota’s director of development and organizational advancement at email@example.com or 651-645-2948 ext. 104.
Can NAMI Minnesota staff help me plan and organize my event?
While we will do our best to support your efforts, staff time is committed to existing NAMI Minnesota fundraising efforts and our capacity to help is limited. Thank you for understanding!
Why is this activity DIY and not a NAMI event?
NAMI hosts a few signature events throughout the year, including NAMIWalks and other activities. DIY events are intended to give you the support and resources you need to host your own, independent effort. This allows you to create an event that fits your personality, community and capacity. In some cases NAMI Minnesota may be able to partner more extensively with you on a fundraiser; please call us to discuss your idea: 651-645-2948 x104.
Can I use NAMI Minnesota’s logo?
NAMI Minnesota will provide our logo, but we ask that you let us approve the materials on which you’ll be using it. Please use language that makes it clear that this is not a fundraiser by NAMI Minnesota, but for NAMI Minnesota. For example, say “School Bake sale to benefit NAMI Minnesota” instead of “NAMI Minnesota School Bake sale.”
Will NAMI pay for any part of our event?
NAMI is not able to pay or reimburse you for any expenses related to your DIY event. Under certain circumstances NAMI may have access to resources that could be helpful.
Are donations tax-deductible?
Yes, funds donated to NAMI are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law. NAMI is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. You should be careful when securing your donations to make sure that the credit for that donation is correctly identified. For example, a payment will be deductible for income tax purposes to the individual or organization from whom the check is received. If donations are made to an independent organization that then pays NAMI, then only the independent organization qualifies as the donor. NAMI is happy to acknowledge any direct contributions to NAMI Minnesota from your event.
In what form should I present NAMI with the funds raised?
All checks should be made out to NAMI Minnesota. We can also take donations by credit card over the phone (651)645-2948 or through the mail: Send checks to: NAMI Minnesota, 1919 University Ave. W., Suite 400, St. Paul, MN 55114. Or use our Secured Donation Page on Network for Good.
Will NAMI help publicize my event?
Generally, NAMI is unable to directly publicize DIY events. We may be able to publicize or share events on social media. Please call us to discuss!
Can I use NAMI’s mailing list?
Because we take seriously the privacy of our donor and participant contact information, we can’t provide donor or participant mailing lists to others.
What Information should I include about NAMI Minnesota?
