Help NAMI with Strategic Planning!

NAMI Minnesota is now developing our strategic plan for the next five years. This document will set our priorities and the work we do across Minnesota. As we begin this work, NAMI Minnesota is eager to get the input of all NAMI members and especially those who are interested in our policy work. Your voice matters and will help us develop our goals. Please take  this short survey and let us know what direction you want NAMI to take!
Now that  Labor Day is over, it’s time for the 2018 election season to begin in earnest. You can expect to hear from candidates and their supporters to begin door-knocking, making phone calls, and attending public events. If a candidate knocks on your door, be sure and ask them about what they will do to build our mental health system.
NAMI Minnesota advocates are also encouraged to attend campaign forums, which provide an opportunity for you to learn where the candidates stand on the issues AND to ask them a question of your own. You can email ssmith@namimn.org for a list of upcoming events and questions to ask. Asking a question doesn’t have to be intimidating. All you have to do is say your first name, what part of the district you live in, that you are a NAMI member, and then state your question. If you are allowed to ask the question yourself, you could also very briefly share your personal story and if you or a loved one lives with mental illness.
